Dear FSTM-ers,

I am delighted to announce that we are welcoming the leading academic staff and the core research and teaching activities of the logistics and supply chain field into our Faculty’s Department of Engineering. This strategic integration aligns these world-class experts with our Department’s deep technical environment to better address the evolving needs of the Luxembourgish and European markets.

By bringing this expertise into the FSTM, we are creating a unique opportunity to mutualize efforts with our existing industrial chairs—including ArcelorMittal, Paul Wurth, and CERATIZIT—to amplify our impact on the national industrial landscape. This synergy is already bearing fruit through success stories like the NEXTLOGIC project, a €15 million Horizon Europe initiative led by our researchers to revolutionize sustainable urban mobility.

Looking ahead, we are jointly developing an expanded two-year Master’s program where logistics will serve as a major track within the field of Industrial Engineering. Throughout this transition, our collaboration with the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF) will remain a cornerstone of our research and educational strategy, ensuring the interdisciplinary depth that this field demands.

Wishing everybody after the exam period, a fruitful summer semester.
