The former Doctoral Programme in Computational Sciences has been renamed Doctoral Programme in Complex Systems Science in order to create new opportunities for PhD projects and to emphasize the interdisciplinary nature of this programme. Prof. Stéphane Bordas remains coordinator of the programme.
The programme already hosts PhD students from diverse disciplines such as computational and data science, economics, social sciences, environmental sciences representing different research departments and Interdisciplinary Centres at the University of Luxembourg, LISER, LIH and LIST, as well as industries in Luxembourg but also interdisciplinary candidates funded by the Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS).
The Doctoral Programme in Complex Systems Science retains data and computational sciences as foundational pillars, where doctoral candidates receive comprehensive training in data analysis, machine learning, and other relevant data-driven techniques, enabling them to analyse complex systems and derive meaningful insights from large datasets.
The disciplines in which PhD degrees can be obtained in this programme remain unchanged: Engineering and Natural Sciences.
