Launched in September 2024 to address the growing demand for skilled professionals in cybersecurity at national level, the Master in Cybersecurity and Cyber Defence welcomed 35 students from all over the world. The first cohort of students brings together a diverse group of individuals, each with a unique background and a shared passion for cybersecurity.
The programme offers an interdisciplinary curriculum that combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills. Students are trained in various aspects of information security, cyber defence strategies, and the management of complex security systems. During their first year, they have learned the foundations of cryptography, information security, security protocols and artificial intelligence. “I chose this programme because Luxembourg has a strong cybersecurity focus and I thought I could benefit from it by studying there. I really appreciate the small classroom and the ability to discover many aspect in cybersecurity”, comments one of the first student.
Throughout their studies, students engage in rigorous coursework, participate in cutting-edge research, and develop the critical thinking and problem-solving skills essential for success in the cybersecurity domain. The programme also emphasises the importance of ethical considerations and the societal impact of cybersecurity practices.
