On 7 march 2024, the University of Luxembourg welcomes Prof. adj. Joana Mendes from the Portuguese Nursing School of Lisbon (ESEL) to give a talk about perinatal palliative care. It will address the principles of perinatal palliative care in a family-centered approach. Recent evidence -based discoveries will be shared and ethical challenges addressed. The event is organised by the nursing sciences unit at the University of Luxembourg.

Invited speaker

Joana Mendes PhD, MSN, RN is an Adjunct Professor in the Portuguese Nursing School of Lisbon (ESEL), a Nurse specialist in child health and palliative care acknowledged by the Portuguese Board of Nursing and a Nursing education expert (Decree-Law 206/2009). She holds a Pediatric Palliative Care Post- graduation, a Pediatric Nursing Master and a Master and PhD in Bioethics,

This seminar is intended for neonatal and pediatric nurses, neonatologists, pediatricians, psychologists and associations working in the field of palliative and bereavement care.
