Abstract:
In the 21st century, the public sector is facing a transformative shift, driven by the advent of emerging technologies, and in particular Artificial Intelligence (AI). In course of the lesson, “Navigating the Technological Frontier: AI in the Public Sector – Challenges and Opportunities,” participants will delve into the profound impact of AI on government operations, services, and policy-making. We will try to understand both the challenges and opportunities posed by AI in public administrations.
The lesson will try to give a comprehensive overview of AI, emphasizing its potential to enhance public sector efficiency, transparency, and citizen engagement. Participants will explore real-world use cases across various government domains, showcasing how AI has already revolutionized healthcare, education, transportation, and more. However, as the adoption of AI in the public sector is not without its hurdles the presentation will examine the challenges such as ethical considerations, data privacy, biases in AI systems, cybersecurity threats, and the need for workforce upskilling.
