Dr. Iurii DOLGANOV

Postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Engineering, FSTM. Member of Applied Thermodynamics research group.

My primary research fields include fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and two-phase flows. This involves applying new heat exchange models in heat pipes, thermosyphons, heat exchangers, and waste heat boilers. Another area of focus is optimizing heat utilization and reuse processes in cogeneration and combined cycle power plants. I have authored and co-authored four patents for heat exchangers with thermosyphon heating surfaces.

Several projects have been implemented in cooperation with industrial partners: 1. Creation of a prototype thermosyphon waste heat boiler for Alumina Refinery Plant (Mykolaiv, Ukraine) 2. Energy audit of industrial buildings of Mykolaiv Sea Port (Ukraine) 3. Creation of a new generation of vacuum condensers for steam power plants (Germany-Luxembourg)

Received a master’s degree in 2010 in Thermal Engineering (Admiral Makarov National University of Shipbuilding: Mykolaiv, UA). In 2015, defended PhD thesis “Increasing the efficiency of heat utilization of combined cycle plants with thermosiphon Waste heat boilers”.
