On 7 march 2024, the University of Luxembourg welcomes Prof. adj. Joana Mendes from the Portuguese Nursing School of Lisbon (ESEL) to give a talk about perinatal palliative care. It will address the principles of perinatal palliative care in a family-centered approach. Recent evidence -based discoveries will be shared and ethical challenges addressed.

Joana Mendes PhD, MSN, RN is an Adjunct Professor in the Portuguese Nursing School of Lisbon (ESEL), a Nurse specialist in child health and palliative care acknowledged by the Portuguese Board of Nursing and a Nursing education expert (Decree-Law 206/2009). She holds a Pediatric Palliative Care Post- graduation, a Pediatric Nursing Master and a Master and PhD in Bioethics,

This seminar is intended for neonatal and pediatric nurses, neonatologists, pediatricians, psychologists and associations working in the field of palliative and bereavement care.
