Physics Colloquium
The DPhyMS is pleased to welcome Dr. Rocio Cortes who will be visiting the University of Luxembourg on September 1. It is an exciting opportunity for researchers to interact with an Associate Editor of PRL.
The event will kick-start with a seminar (+Q&A session) where she will introduce the inner workings of the PRL journal, and also the challenges faced by the authors and the editors of the journal. This will be followed by an interaction session, where interested groups present their research in 5 minutes presentations (+2 minutes for short questions). The remaining time will be dedicated to informal discussions with the speaker.
About the speaker:
Rocio received her Ph.D. in physics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Prior to joining the APS, she was a postdoctoral research associate at the Center for Functional Nanomaterials at Brookhaven National Laboratory. Rocio has also worked at the Ultrafast Surface Dynamics Research Group at Freie Universität Berlin, and at the Fritz-Haber Institute of the Max-Planck Society, Germany where she was awarded a Humboldt Research Fellowship. Rocio joined PRL in 2014.
