Research Group Collaborative and Socio-Technical Systems (COaST)

Research in our group

The COaST group’s research is inherently interdisciplinary and takes a holistic approach encompassing both basic research as well as an applied stance in which fundamental results are incorporated into concrete prototype applications and experiences.

    Our research approach

    Basic Research

The fundamental principles of human-computer interaction and collaboration can only be understood in an interdisciplinary approach integrating various fields, such as cognitive science. This enables computational models and solutions tailored to human thought processes, learning, and decision-making.

    Applied Research

Our research projects involve implementing and deploying systems to address real-world challenges. This approach includes developing and refining technologies like distributed systems, collaboration tools, and other applications to ensure that theoretical insights and innovative ideas are translated into practical, reliable, high-performance solutions.
