Training new generation of actuaries
The insurance sector is particularly active in Luxembourg, with 280 companies and 4500 employees. The new generation of actuaries will need to successfully combine modern methods of mathematics and data science, knowledge in economics and finance, and contemporary skills in insurance practice, to meet the competitive standards of the actuarial profession. To answer the growing demand in this field, the University of Luxembourg together with the Ministry of Finance and the Association of Luxembourg Insurers and Reinsurer (ACA), have launched the Chair of Applied Statistics in Actuarial Sciences with a particular focus on risk, asset management, and data science.
In the frame of this Chair, the following activities will be conducted:

- Research in Actuarial Sciences at the University
- Promotion of advancements to contribute to the continued growth and innovation of Luxembourg’s financial services sector
