The University of Luxembourg with the Department of Engineering was part of the Wood Cluster Forum which took place on 6 May 2025 at IFSB Bettembourg. Three novel steel-to-timber shear connectors recently developed at the University were presented to the participants.
‟ Currently available steel-timber composite (STC) beams and flooring systems do not facilitate easy disassembly and reuse, which are necessary to reduce the impact of the construction sector. Three novel steel-to-timber shear connectors have been developed and tested at University of Luxembourg. These connections, enable demountability and reuse of steel-timber composite (STC) flooring systems.”
