Dear FSTM-ers,
As we find ourselves in mid-summer, I would like to share some important updates from the last governing board meeting of the academic year.
First and foremost, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Leglu for her dedication and remarkable achievements during her tenure as Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs. We also warmly welcome Professor Hiligsmann, who will be taking over this significant role.
We are excited to announce the arrival of three new professors to FSTM in the coming months:
- Professor Marko Rančić in HPC/Quantum Computing (DCS)
- Professeur Franck Sueur in Partial Differential Equations & Analysis (DMATH)
- Professeur Joeri Vermeulen as a guest professor in Midwifery (DLSM)
Additionally, we have opened two new positions in engineering (DoE).
FSTM has significantly contributed to the University of Luxembourg’s AI and data strategy, which will support the National strategy in this area. Our main objectives are to attract and educate new talents, while conducting cutting-edge research and outreach in the domain. Our Megatrends office with the support of the whole faculty has established a clear mapping of our existing skills and resources and developed a vision for consolidating these in the coming years.
Wishing you all a peaceful and restful August.
Yours sincerely,
Pascal Bouvry
Dean
