Another End of the World is Possible.

Can technology ignore the physical limits of growth, or can it only provide us with more and better products, but also with more and better waste? This is a text that reflects on the entropic nature of materials and their economic process, based on the work of the Romanian economist Nicholas Georgescu-Roegen. The discussion helps us to critically reflect if architecture can, given its material quality, extend the life or death of the world, or whether it is simply an activity that contributes for us to having “a short but extravagant existence”.

Cesar Reyes Najera, postdoctoral researcher and Simona Popova, master in architecture from the University of Luxembourg co authored this paper published by the Journal ARQ. Guest edited by Marcelo Lopez Dinardi.
