Goodness Groceries, a virtual companion for eco-responsible and ethical shopping, developed by the University of Luxembourg in partnership with the Pall Center, has been launched on 13 October 2022.

The app is part of a pilot study developed by the Sustainable Food Practices research group at the University of Luxembourg. The study offers a virtual shopping companion, which can be used to scan QR codes in the Oberpallen and Steinfort Pall Center shops. The app provides eco-responsible and ethical information about the making and characteristics of different food products.

The researchers are interested in finding out if such a tool is helpful to consumers in learning about the origins and production and processing methods of their foods, as well as if such on-site information helps consumers to easier select sustainable foods.

Participation in the study is open for those over age 18: https://bit.ly/GGunilu

The Sustainable Food Practices research group headed by Dr Rachel Reckinger aims to strengthen sustainable perceptions and practices, with a particular sensitivity for social inequalities. The group’s scientific recommendations aim at driving towards a more socially and environmentally just food system in Luxembourg.
