The European Migration Network (EMN) Platform on Statelessness is pleased to announce its upcoming multistakeholder meeting on:
“Statelessness in the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum: with focus on statelessness as a vulnerability”
Adopted in June 2024, the EU Pact on Migration and Asylum introduces, for the first time, binding provisions on statelessness within the EU acquis. Statelessness is identified as a specific vulnerability, creating new legal obligations for Member States to identify and register stateless individuals.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to:
- exchange good practices and address challenges,
- strengthen cooperation among Member State experts, practitioners, researchers, international and non-governmental organizations,
- explore the practical implications of the Pact for the protection of stateless persons.
