This talk explores how academic research can support the journey from a student idea to a fully established non-profit. Drawing on the example of GoldenMe, a Luxembourg-based organization that evolved from a project on loneliness into an initiative for digital inclusion funded by the Ministry of Family Affairs, Mara Kroth reflects on the opportunities and challenges of connecting research with practice. Through lessons learned, field stories, and honest reflections, the talk highlights how adapting language and expectations to different audiences can increase the impact of research beyond academia. Participants will be invited to exchange and discuss afterwards.
