COA 51 ROME, A WORLD CITY by Lorenzo Romito & Giulia Fiocca (Stalker)

Tuesday May 12 | 18:30 – 20:30 | COA space, 24 rue du Brill in Esch

We will have a conversation with Lorenzo Romito & Giulia Fiocca around Stalker’s ongoing exploration of Rome as a living, self-regenerating “World City.” Drawing from over 30 years of collective practice, Stalker reflects on urban margins, ruins, wild ecologies, migration, and shared spaces as sites where new forms of social and environmental coexistence can emerge. Through the concepts of Latium, Asylum, and Mundus, Rome is understood not as a fixed capital shaped by control and extraction, but as an inclusive urban ecosystem capable of constantly reinventing itself through encounter with otherness.

The session will open a discussion on how participatory urban practices, collective care, and alternative imaginaries of the city may help us rethink contemporary urban crises and envision more regenerative futures.
