Food Policy Councils are innovative and effective instruments, because they combine public action with market initiatives, as well as innovations from civil society and research: a democratic body composed in a pluralist way and serving the common good of food, which consults on food issues and builds bridges between players in the food system who do not generally discuss amongst themselves.
