Submission guidelines

Important information for contributors

Registration required: Only first authors who register and pay the conference fee by 30 June 2026 will be included in the final program. First authors must present their work at the conference.
Capacity limits: If submissions exceed venue capacity, priority will be given by submission date (earliest first).
Format changes: The DGPs may change the presentation format (e.g., talk to poster) as needed.

Contribution formats

Posters (A0 portrait: 841 mm × 1189 mm) may present empirical, conceptual, theoretical, or methodological research. Each poster will be assigned to one of several scheduled poster sessions. Mounting materials will be available at the help desk.

A symposium brings together four to six thematically related presentations on a specific research question, each from a different first author. Each abstract (max. 250 words) is submitted as part of the joint symposium proposal. Total duration: 90 minutes.

Coupled symposia allow for an extended format over two (not necessarily consecutive) 90-minute slots. This format is suited for topical symposia with 8–10 contributions.

One symposium may be submitted per DGPs section (Fachgruppe). Submissions must be made by the section speaker.

Research talks present completed empirical studies or new theoretical/methodological developments, including the speaker’s own perspective. Speaking time: 15 minutes including discussion. The Program Committee will group related talks into thematic sessions of 4–6 presentations. One or two presenters per session will be asked to chair.

Position papers offer a comprehensive presentation of a scientific stance on a given topic. Speaking time: 30 minutes plus 15 minutes for discussion.

Flashlights are short presentations (5 minutes + 2 minutes discussion) open to students, doctoral, and postdoctoral researchers. Each session consists of 12 flashlights followed by questions. The same research may be submitted both as a full presentation (poster or talk) and as a flashlight, but presenters should be prepared to deliver both if accepted.

Travel awards

Tailored for early career scientists, we will award travel grants to student members of the DGPs and PhD student members of the DGPs, each worth 500€. Applications may be submitted through the link below until 31 January 2026.
