Welcome to Luxembourg

Nestled between Belgium, France and Germany, the Grand Duchy spans 2.586 km² and is home to around 645 000 people. It combines centuries-old heritage with modern infrastructure. The capital, Luxembourg City, stands out for its dramatic setting on cliffs and in deep gorges, with its UNESCO-listed old quarters and fortifications reflecting the country’s long and complex history. Luxembourg’s multilingual society (Luxembourgish, French, and German) reflects its role as a European crossroads and hosts key institutions such as the European Court of Justice.
