Research area Sustainability Studies

Exploring changes in ecological concerns and actions

We investigate sustainability and its governance from social, political and economic perspectives, be they converging or competing.

About

At the Institute of History, we analyse transitions, continuities, resistances and paradigm shifts in the stewardship of, power dynamics around and the consciousness of, natural resources and societal relationships, in transnational contexts. We have a particular focus on food systems, and within those, the empirical analysis of participatory tools for food democracy and food sovereignty.
