In detail
Aislinn Taylor started her PhD in Social Sciences at the University of Luxembourg in December 2024. As part of the XPose Doctoral Training Unit at the Luxembourg Institute of Health, she will be investigating the impact of air pollution exposure on neurodegenerative diseases, with particular consideration of socioeconomic status and sex/gender, while also delving into the role of cardiovascular health in these relationships. This project will apply epidemiological and machine learning techniques to build an in-depth understanding of the relationship between these variables.
Previously, Aislinn completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Maynooth University in Ireland, and went on to obtain a master’s degree in psychology, specialising in neuropsychology, at Maastricht University in the Netherlands. During this time, she was able to complete an internship in the Department of Psychology in Maynooth, where she was able to delve into literature on Relational Frame Theory-based interventions for improving performance on standardised measures of intelligence, as well as overall academic achievement. Previous research projects have involved investigating the effects of ambient room temperature on the depth of cognitive processing, and investigating the triangular relationship between sleep, long COVID, and cognition.
