Fast forward: Youth in Luxembourg
Once childhood days are over, young people’s lives tick up in pace, almost as if in fast-forward mode.
The older they get, the more own responsibilities they must take on: Make new friends, leave familiar environments behind, and make first steps on the way to personal independence. For many, this path is littered with obstacles. For others, this is a smooth ride.

Helping to put youth research into practice
To make youth research more readily available in the public, the Centre for Childhood and Youth Research (CCY) maintains the website youth-in-luxembourg.lu
Aimed to reach out to non-academic readers, the website strives to use easy-to-understand language, visualisations and video content, to translate their scientific findings about young people into policy-relevant briefings and insightful stories.
The website youth-in-luxembourg.lu is maintained within the framework of the project DDRC: Digital Documentation and Research Centre – Youth. On its website, the DDRC documents youth research topics in Luxembourg.
Scientists and professionals at the CCY readily use the project to engage in science communication and outreach activities. Youth researchers at the CCY engage in knowledge transfers with public stakeholders who aim at policy making that is evidence-based.
The project receives funding from the University’s Faculty of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences (FHSE) and the Ministère de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse (MENJE).
Thanks to their continuous support, the project serves as the institutional memory of youth research in and about Luxembourg.
