    Objectives

    The Master in Modern and Contemporary European Philosophy combines a solid academic foundation with practice-based approach.

    Students work on an advanced topics in contemporary philosophy and cover different philosophical approaches:

    – Early modern European philosophy: Rationalism and Empiricism, Philosophy of Enlightenment
    – Kant and German Idealism: Transcendental Philosophy
    – 20th century and contemporary European
    philosophy: Philosophy of Existence/Hermeneutics, Phenomenology

    During the Master colloquium, students learn to develop, present and defend a research projects, to evaluate and criticize other student’s work, and to react on criticism.

    An internship and credited language courses provide students with a competitive advantage in the job market.

    Learning outcomes

    At the end of the programme, students are able to:

    – understand the relevant concepts and the most important approaches in Modern and Contemporary Philosophy

    – critically assess the views put forward by prominent authors

    – read, understand and master complex information

    – think critically on contemporary issues
