Strengths

A unique academic–industry partnership in Europe’s private asset hub

The Private Assets Track is embedded in an endowed chair, co-financed by the Ministry of Finance, the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), and the University of Luxembourg, ensuring sustained academic excellence and strong ties to industry. The program is co-designed with leading practitioners from Luxembourg’s vibrant private asset ecosystem, including experts in private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and fund structuring.

Teaching is delivered by a combination of internationally recognized academics and senior professionals actively shaping the private asset industry. This ensures that students benefit from both state-of-the-art theoretical insights and first-hand practical expertise.

Students may choose between an academic master thesis or an applied master thesis, the latter typically combined with an internship in a private asset fund or advisory firm. The best applied thesis may be recognized through an industry-sponsored award.

The program attracts a highly international cohort, offering all instruction in English and providing a launchpad for careers in Luxembourg or abroad. Located in Kirchberg, the heart of Luxembourg’s financial center, students are uniquely positioned to develop a professional network through guest lectures, internships, and outreach events hosted by the Chair.

This track also offers the Private Assets Chair Award. This prize is conferred to the student with the highest Grade Point Average (average value of the accumulated final grades earned in courses and in the thesis over the degree).
