In 2025, the FDEF Teaching awards were presented on 8 December during the Faculty’s Graduation Ceremonies. Our Faculty warmly congratulates the winners, Associate Professor Sarah Gelper, and doctoral candidate Panagiotis Mytilinaios.

Assoc. Prof Sarah Gelper

Associate Professor in Business Analytics with a Specialization in Marketing Analytics, Sarah Gelper joined the University of Luxembourg in December 2022 after a career at the Rotterdam School of Management and Eindhoven University of Technology.

At the FDEF, she has contributed significantly to the development of the Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA) in the Department of Economics and Management, where she has been co-Study Programme Director since the 2024-2025 academic year.

This recognition reflects her strong commitment to her students, her sincere interest in their success, and her genuine passion for sharing knowledge.

Panagiotis Mytilinaios

Panagiotis Mytilinaios is a doctoral student pursuing studies within our Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management. In the accounting course which he taught, he focused his efforts on helping students to develop critical thinking about accounting.

Through the course, he managed to attract the attention of the more academically-oriented students and the more practice-oriented students alike. Panagiotis demonstrated both the innate beauty of economics as well as the importance of having a deep understanding of accounting as applied to a complex real-world setting.

He has been highly recommended by both his Department of finance colleagues as well as his students for his innovative and high-value added approach.
