The Competence Centre is recognised for its ability to propose innovative training solutions that meet the educational objectives and the constraints and requirements of its various target audiences. Its multidisciplinary team includes specialists in continuing education and experts in face-to-face training and digital learning.
Through its integration into the University of Luxembourg, the Competence Centre’s team relies on the expertise of faculties and interdisciplinary training centres as well as on a network of highly qualified professional experts to develop quality programmes.
The Competence Centre’s activities align with three key strategic areas:

Academic Continuing Education (ACE)
In the key focus areas of the University (Health & Medicine, Digital Transition, Sustainability). This alignment with the University of Luxembourg’s strategy and latest research provides credibility, where participants benefit from cutting edge information and expertise.

Learning & Development
The professional development of the University of Luxembourg’s academic and administrative staff is essential to ensuring the institution remains agile and well-prepared to navigate rapid scientific and technological advancements. To support its workforce, the University offers a wide range of development opportunities (upskilling, reskilling, transversal skills) to its employees and doctoral candidates, via the Competence Center, which plays a key role in aligning and enhancing professional development across the institution.

Training for Luxembourg
The Competence Centre offers several tailored training programmes to address the specific needs of Luxembourg, particularly emphasising existing activities in the health sector and ICT/digital learning and teaching.
All three areas benefit from the Competence Centre’s expertise and tools in digital learning, which include online courses, MOOCs, webinars, and other flexible and accessible e-learning formats.
The new structure will be led by a university professor who will oversee seamless integration and effective communication within the academic community. Reporting directly to the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, the Competence Centre is positioned as a central structure, underscoring its strategic importance within the University.
