Slawomir KEDZIORA pursued his studies in applied mechanics at the Lodz University of Technology, where he was awarded a PhD degree in Applied Mechanics in the year 2000. His PhD thesis was titled “Ultimate Load Capacity of Orthotropic Thin-Walled Beams-Columns with Open and Closed Cross-Sections in the Elastic-Plastic Range”. He embarked on his career in the automotive industry as a Reliability Engineer in DELPHI, which was immediately followed by promotion as Senior Experimental Engineer in 2002. Later in 2008, he started working at EATON as an Engineering Specialist in Stress Engineering. In 2013, he was recruited as a Principal Engineer at DNV GL, an esteemed company with its domain in the marine industry.
His activities in the industry were primarily around Reliability and Stress Engineering, with a particular focus on the holistic design of mechanical and civil engineering elements and structures.
With the mammoth task of passing on the knowledge legacy to the forthcoming generations, he joined the University of Luxembourg as an associate professor in the Mechanical Engineering Department under Faculty of Science, Technology and Medicine (FSTM) during the year 2014.
