Inês Crisóstomo works at the Gender Equality Office of the University of Luxembourg, where she coordinates the implementation of multiple programs aimed at fostering equitable career development. Her mission is to support individuals and teams in realizing their full potential. As a dedicated advocate for research environments that nurture both people and scientific advancement, she is committed to promoting mentoring culture and collaborative learning across academia.
Inês is the Program Manager of the ADVANCE Mentoring Program, holding an EMCC Global Individual Accreditation (EIA) and certification as an EMCC IPMA Coach/Mentor Program Manager, ensuring the program adheres to international standards and ethical guidelines. She manages all aspects of ADVANCE, including mentor and mentee training, program implementation, and coaching support for mentees.
Beyond ADVANCE, she also manages the Marie Speyer Excellence Grants and the Women Leaders programs, and contributes to broader gender equality efforts such as LGBTQIA+ inclusion, gender policy monitoring, and outreach. A natural collaborator, Inês works closely with various university offices, including Staff Development, Transversal Skills Team, and the Career Center. Moreover, she regularly facilitates workshops for Doctoral Schools and is a member of the Steering Committee of the University of Luxembourg Leadership Academy.
Internationally, Inês is frequently invited to consult on mentoring and researcher development programs, and actively participates in professional networks and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities to ensure her work remains aligned with best practices in inclusive academic development.
She holds a PhD in Biology from ITQB-UNL, with research conducted at The Rockefeller University in New York. Her expertise in scientific training and mentoring has been shaped through roles at leading international research institutes, including iMM (Lisbon, Portugal) and the Vienna BioCenter (Vienna, Austria).
