On Friday, 16 September, the University of Luxembourg hosts the Welcome Day for its new students from 9.00 to 17.00 on Belval Campus.
Starting life on campus is a milestone in any student’s life and can be as exciting as it may be intimidating. The Welcome Day gives new students the opportunity to discover the campus and is designed to help them settle into their new environment.
Watch new students’ stories
As students prepare to embark on their new learning and life experience, they are sharing stories about their life and study objectives and what makes them eager to join us. Watch these stories in the highlights’ section on our Instagram account.
Welcome and introduction to student life
After previous editions marred by restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2022 Welcome Day is held under almost “normal” circumstances. The event is all “in presence”, however reserved for new students and based on prior registration.
Students will be welcomed by University rector Prof. Stéphane Pallage and vice-rector for academic affairs Prof. Catherine Léglu. Students will also be introduced to the services of the Student Department (SEVE), to the activities of the Student Delegation, to the University’s vibrant array of student associations, and much more.
Information stands on student services
Various student services will be present at the Welcome Day on Belval Campus, including the Admission & Accommodation Offices, Student Services, Student IT Helpdesk and Campus Radio (by Radio ARA). Please check the detailed schedule on welcomeday.uni.lu.
Free lunch and drinks for new students
The University offers free lunch to new students during the Welcome Day from 11.30 to 14.30 in three different locations across Belval Campus.
Students may discover the campus by themselves and visit the different student areas at their own pace at any time. Guided tours of the campus (on-site registration during the morning required) and the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) (no prior registration required) are also offered. The auditoriums at the Maison du Savoir, the library (Luxembourg Learning Centre LLC), and the Maison des Arts et des Étudiants (MAE) are open all day.
