Celebrating Europe Day and 75 years of unity!
On May 9, we celebrate Europe Day, marking the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration—presented on this day in 1950. This historic proposal signalled a new era of peace, integration, and democratic cooperation, laying the cornerstone for the European Union we know today.
75 years on, its vision of a united Europe continues to inspire.
Europe Direct University of Luxembourg is delighted to publish a video series created by Giulia Bonacquisti, Programme Manager at TEPSA – Trans European Policy Studies Association, a network of leading European universities and think tanks in the field of EU affairs.
Drawing on a large number of CVCE resources, ‘EU History Explained’ recalls the history of European integration in 10 short and highly informative videos.
The videos are in English with subtitles available in several other languages.
This video series is a truly useful resource to 1) support teachers in secondary, undergraduate and graduate education in teaching EU matters, and 2) support EU institutions and other actors in strengthening citizens’ awareness and understanding of the EU and its policies with a view to enhancing their democratic participation.
