The University of Luxembourg is expanding and fine-tuning its academic offer, with the launch of six new programmes and the redesigning of three existing ones.

In total, the University now offers 25 bachelor’s degrees and 46 master’s degrees. All the study programmes, as well as numerous campus activities and services, will be presented during the Open Day on Saturday 16 March 2024 on Belval campus.

The University of Luxembourg is committed to expanding its academic offer, while keeping a close eye on labour market trends as well as societal or technological developments.

The new programmes

  • Bachelor in Nursing Sciences – Nurse responsible for general care

This programme has been developed jointly by academic and healthcare professionals in Luxembourg. The graduated nurses will have the technical, theoretical and linguistic skills required to integrate the Luxembourg health system or pursue a specialisation. For instance, graduates will be able to pursue a specialisation in nursing at the University.

  • Master in Cybersecurity and Cyber Defense

Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, this master degree will provide training in complementary disciplines, combining in-depth theory with the acquisition of operational skills in information security management and cyber defense. Students will be able to identify, understand and resolve cyber security incidents, while developing technologies to improve resilience in the face of cyber threats.

  • Master in Digital and Public History

This programme, unique in Europe, will combine international perspectives in digital and public history, equipping students with the methodology, skills and practical experience to research history and communicate it in engaging ways. Graduates can prepare for an academic path or a career in cultural institutions, as well as in media, education or an academic career.

The Master’s in Educational Sciences

Three new Master programmes in educational sciences offer trained teachers the possibility to specialise in the following subjects:

  • Master in Educational Sciences – Development of Curriculum and Instruction

  • Master in Educational Sciences – Inclusive Education and Pedagogy

  • Master in Educational Sciences – School Management and Development

These courses combine the necessary theory and linguistic training with a learning-by-doing approach rooted in the real world.

The redesigned programmes

  • Master in Molecular and Computational Biomedicine

Decoding the code of life: that is what this master programme, previously known as the Master in Integrated Systems Biology, envisions. It provides students with an in-depth understanding of biosciences, integrating experimental and computational innovations. Students will have the digital skills needed to embark on a career in the biology or health technology sector, or to pursue an academic career.

  • Master in Space Technologies and Business

Developed with the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), this master trains professionals to make their mark in the emerging global space industry, by creating, shaping, and sustaining space enterprises. In order to become adepts at the technical aspects as well as the business side of complex space operations, students are taught through lectures by academics and industry experts, as well as in practice through a project-based learning approach. Previously known as the Interdisciplinary Space Master, the programme has been redesigned to keep pace with trends in this fast-growing sector.

  • Bachelor of Business Administration

Built around broad managerial competencies required by the modern workplace, the bachelor trains students to acquire specific knowledge of the context and necessary tools of business administration, a critical perspective on global business opportunities and challenges, as well as behavioral traits that are key to a successful business career today

Registrations for all study programmes are now open. Registration fees are 200 euros per semester for most course programmes.

The Open Day on 16 March 2024 is an opportunity for prospective students to gather all the information they seek about the study programmes, life on the Belval campus and the study and research facilities.
