On 4 October 2022, the University hosted a Citizen’s dialogue, with Mrs. Yuriko Backes, Minister of Finance of Luxembourg, and Mr. Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner for Economy. For two hours, an audience of students, teachers and researchers from the University and a broader young audience from the Grande Région, were able to debate with the guests at the Auditoire Tavenas on the theme “What next for Europe’s youth? Current challenges and future prospects”.
Prof. Jens Kreisel, Vice-Rector for Research, welcomed the speakers and the public. A first session titled “What are the EU’s role in addressing long-term investment prioritiesC²DH was moderated by Mrs. Anne Calteux, Head of Representation of EU Commission to Luxembourg, and a second session titled Europe DirectLiving in the global polycrisis: what are the current economic challenges and the EU’s policy response?“, was moderated by Dr. Elena Danescu, Research Scientist at the “, and coordinator of “ at the University of Luxembourg.
