Following the new legal regulations adopted on Thursday 29 October to combat COVID-19, the LLC is putting in place new measures for the reception of the public.
In order to respect the limit of 100 persons authorised in public places in Luxembourg, the LLC is implementing the following new measures:
- Access to workplaces:
- 100 workplaces are currently available at the LLC. On arrival, you will receive a ticket giving you access to a workplace. At your departure, please leave this ticket at your workplace to indicate that the workplace must be cleaned before it can be occupied by the next person.
- 100 tickets are available. If there are no more tickets available, access to the LLC’s workspaces is no longer possible and you will have to wait for places to become available again.
- Book loans and returns: this service remains open to all users, with access to the Welcome Zone and the collections, only for the time needed to take the desired books and borrow them or to return borrowed documents.
During your visit:
- Wearing a mask is mandatory during your stay at the LLC, including when you are sitting at your workplace.
- Washing or disinfecting your hands is mandatory before touching books on the shelves.
- We ask you to respect social distancing.
- The furniture and workplaces have been adapted to allow a safe distance between users. It is forbidden to move the furniture.
- Please respect the signage in place and all instructions given by LLC staff.

On site at the LLC, you can:
- Access the shelves directly and choose your books
- Borrow and return books via automatic borrowing machines
- Work individually
- Use computers
- Use printing services
- Borrow a laptop
- Access ILNAS and Bloomberg posts
- Withdraw orders for research projects
Group work areas remain closed.
Opening hours:
The LLC is open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 to 22.00 and Saturdays from 8.00 to 17.00 to all users.
