Your role

We offer a position to excite teenagers for physics and sustainability by performing with them hands on experiments. Our laboratory is equipped with state of the art devices and new workshops are planned to be developed within this position.   • Exciting position which will allow you to integrate own ideas and visions
  • Creative and independent development of hands-on workshops in physics and sustainability integrating didactic concepts
  • Coordinating and teaching hands-on workshops for high schools
  • Organize outreach activities at events like science festivals
  • Budget and project organization of the Scienteens Lab physics and sustainability section
  • Partnership with local high-school teachers and research groups from the University of Luxembourg
  • Participation to funding applications
  • Continuous trainings for you to improve your hard and soft skills and topics of interest
  • Working together with colleagues of many different nationalities in a truly multilingual environment

Your profile

  • Master diploma / PhD in physics, engineering or related fields
  • Experience in outreach activities and teaching
  • Experience/ motivation in developing your own teaching material with e.g. 3D print
  • Good project management skills and organizational skills
  • High level of autonomy and ability to solve multi-dimensional challenges
  • Ability to manage different stakeholder with potential different interests
  • Fluency in French and English is required; knowledge of Luxembourgish and German is an asset

About the LCSB

The University of Luxembourg is an international research university with a distinctly multilingual and interdisciplinary character.

The Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB) is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg and the founder of the Scienteens Lab. The Scienteens Lab – De Labo fir Jonker – is the first research lab for high-school students in Luxembourg. It is an extracurricular learning center of the University of Luxembourg that develops and offers workshops designed to spark the interest of high-school students in science, show them the latest trends and technologies in research and support them in their career choice. Hands-on experiments, supervised by experienced scientists and teachers from various disciplines, provide the students with an insight into scientific research and the day-to-day work in the lab. The workshops currently address relevant topics in biology, mathematics, computer science, physics and sustainability.
