On November 5, Dr Elena Danescu, manager of the ED-UNILU and ECI Ambassador, took part in the sixth ECI Network Meeting.
These meetups are informal, peer-to-peer exchanges, with short updates shared by the Commission and an invitation for those attending to share questions, ideas, etc. The floor is open for questions or ideas that can be shared with other ECI Ambassadors, National Contact Points, and others.
Summary of meet up (5 November 2025)
1) ECI Ambassadors activities – a big thank you to all for your work!
- Together, you’ve implemented at least 139 activities across at least 21 EU countries reaching over 150,000 people!
- Those of you that have not reported yet – please do so via the EU Survey before the end of the year. ECI Ambassadors are requested to make at least 6 communication actions per calendar year (more are always welcome!).
2) Updates on the communication campaign:
- New social media materials: three ready-to-use carousels are attached to this email. In the zipped folder, you will find the visuals, canva links, and suggested captions. You will also find a short guide on how to use the Canva template link:
- Don’t forget to tag the Commission central channels and the Commission Representations! The list of handles is attached.
- We also shared a first draft of a new video that is being produced – check it out and let us know what you think!
- The ECI postcards have been updated! Have a look:Take the initiative – Publications Office of the EU
- We are also developing new social media materials to promote the ECI Educational toolkit, which is a great resource for secondary schools to teach students how EU policies are made and how to have a say on them. Teachers can order printed copies and request a certificate of completion.
The ECI helps bring causes you care about to the EU level, sparking debates, raising awareness, and triggering policy changes. Once an initiative gathers 1 million verified signatures from at least 7 EU countries, the Commission thoroughly assesses the citizens’ demands and adopts an official reply explaining what it will do; in case it decides that no action is needed, the Commission explains why.
