UNIVERSEH General Meeting

Facilities on Campus & Nearby

  • Eduroam: Available across the University. Participants can connect using their home institution credentials.
  • Guest Wi-Fi (“Cité des Sciences”): A temporary network is available for visitors. Login details will be provided at the registration desk.

During the General Meeting, participants will also have access to spaces on campus where they can relax, read, or work between sessions.

📍Maison du Savoir (MSA)

  • Floor 1: Quiet areas to relax, read, work, or eat.
  • Floor 4: Dedicated room MSA 4.330 reserved for individual work.

📚 Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC)

The LLC – the main University’s library – also offers several spaces to relax and recharge between sessions:

  • Ground Floor (Lounge): Paper journals in multiple languages, TVs, and informal spaces to sit, chat, or unwind
  • Floors +1 and +3: Chill out rooms with floor cushions, plus open zones with comfortable chairs, sofas, and a comic book selection.

Belval offers a wide range of options, from Korean, Asian, Italian, and other cuisines to casual cafés and bars.

Key Sites on Campus

  • Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC)
    The University’s flagship library, built within the steel frame of a former industrial warehouse, featuring a bold glass façade and open spaces that symbolise openness and innovation.
  • Cité des Sciences & Blast Furnaces
    Belval’s landmark sites reflect the area’s transformation from industrial heritage to a hub for science and innovation. Highlights include climbing the Blast Furnace to a 40-metre viewing platform with panoramic views of Belval.
    A combined guided tour of the Blast Furnace and the Cité des Sciences is proposed in the General Meeting programme on Thursday, 27 November.

Practical Tips

In November, temperatures range between 3–9°C. Rain is common, bring warm and waterproof clothing.

Luxembourgish, French, and German are official; English is widely spoken, especially at the University.

An introduction to Lëtzebuergesch

Free across Luxembourg (trains, buses, tram). A valid ticket is required only for travel in 1st class train compartments.
Direct trains connect Belval and Luxembourg City in about 30 minutes.
