On 9 May 2020, Europe celebrated the 70th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration.
With the European Union today facing major challenges, Europe Direct University of Luxembourg and the European Parliament are pleased to invite you to visit the exhibition developed by the European Parliament to shine a light on this revolutionary initiative which, on 9 May 1950, served as a starting point for the European Community. We must not forget the immense effort that was needed, in the midst of the Cold War, to take the first steps in a process of integration that shaped the history of our continent.
The exhibition is on display in the Luxembourg Learning Centre (LLC) at the University of Luxembourg in Belval from 4 May to 4 June 2022. It is open to visitors from Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 20:00, and on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:00 to 17:00.
The Archives Unit of the European Parliament is the publisher of this exhibition and the Directorate of Libraries and Knowledge Tools is the curator (Directorate General of Parliamentary Research Services).
