About

In the pursuit of decarbonizing Luxembourg’s energy system, the active involvement of consumers is pivotal. This engagement is driven by a burgeoning interest among households in safeguarding the environment and curbing energy expenses. However, the path to sustainable energy practices is laden with complexities like dynamic electricity tariffs, presenting challenges to individuals which should not be underestimated. Recognizing this problem, information systems emerge as tools in equipping consumers with the knowledge and insights necessary to navigate this complex landscape. LetzPower! leads the charge in this endeavor, pioneering the development of an application poised to revolutionize the way consumers interact with energy data in Luxembourg. The application not only aggregates vital energy data like dynamic prices and emission factors on an hourly basis but also distilles the information into a user-friendly format, empowering consumers to make informed decisions in real-time. Armed with insights from LetzPower!, they can strategically delay operation to coincide with periods of heightened wind energy generation, thereby optimizing their energy consumption and reducing their carbon footprint. By empowering consumers to actively engage with energy data, LetzPower! catalyzes a paradigm shift in the energy landscape. Residential consumers emerge as active participants in the quest for a more sustainable future for the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, defined by greater flexibility and efficiency in consumption. By understanding and promoting more sustainable electricity consumption behaviour in the residential sector alongside dynamic tariffs, system operators are enabled to better manage grid dynamics and allocate resources efficiently. Retailers, meanwhile, stand to benefit from a more informed consumer base, fostering stronger customer relationships and energy purchase securities. In essence, LetzPower!’s information system heralds a new era of consumer empowerment. By bridging the gap between intent and action, it paves the way for a more sustainable and resilient energy future for Luxembourg and beyond.
