Assist. Prof Raphaël FRANK

Raphael Frank is an Assistant Professor / Senior Research Scientist at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT), where he heads the UBIX Research Group. He is also the director of the ATLAS IPBG Programme and member of the University Council.

His research interests include intelligent distributed systems. He has published more than 80 articles in peer-reviewed academic conferences and journals. He is a senior member of the IEEE, and regularly serve as TPC member for international scientific conferences and editor for special issue journals.

Since 2023, he has been leading the UBIX Research Group at SnT. In 2018, he received his habilitation, authorizing him to supervise PhD students and lead large research projects as a Principal Investigator. From 2018 to 2022, he led the 360Lab at SnT, where he contributed to national, European, and industrial projects as a PI, Co-PI, and lead researcher. He is also the co-founder and former Operations Director of Motion-S, the first tech spin-off of the University of Luxembourg, founded in 2014.

He holds a Master’s degree in Cryptography and Network Security from the University of Joseph Fourier in France, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Luxembourg. During his Ph.D. studies, he was a visiting scholar at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
