Dr. Alizadeh holds a BSc, an MSc, and a PhD in Electrical Power System Engineering from Shahid Bahonar University of Kerman, Shiraz University of Technology, and Tarbiat Modares University, obtained in 2010, 2013, and 2018, respectively. In 2013, he received the national award for the best master thesis in smart grid research from the Iran Society of Smart Grid (ISSG) and was selected as a Ph.D. candidate at Tarbiat Modares University through an exceptional talent program. He successfully defended his Ph.D. on 2018, and awarded the highest Ph.D. thesis grade (20/20) as a record.

In 2017, he joined the Niroo Research Institute (NRI), Iran’s premier public research centre dedicated to power systems, as a part-time researcher. He was also working on a reliability project for Greater Tehran Electric Power Distribution Company (TBTB) funded by national elite foundation (BMN), Iran.

In 2020, he moved to Luxembourg and joined the Luxembourg National Institute of Science and Technology (LIST) as a research associate to contribute to the ATTEST project, supervised by Dr. Florin Capitanescu, a H2020-funded European consortium involving five leading research organisations and two utilities. By 2023, he led research efforts at LIST on TESTIFY and ECHO projects, funded by Luxembourg’s FNR, he served as co-developer and co-supervisor for a Ph.D. candidate on the FNR-funded TESTIFY project.

By September 2025, he joined SnT’s SerVal research group as a research associate, mainly working on the FutureFinTech project D2ET under the supervision of Dr. Sylvain Kubler and Dr. Maxime Cordy, in collaboration with CREOS Luxembourg.

Additionally, he actively contributed to the academic community as a voluntary reviewer for esteemed journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Power Systems and IEEE Transactions on Sustainable Energy, and was recognised as an outstanding reviewer for the latter in 2021.

Dr. Alizadeh possesses extenisve expertise in power system operations, with a strong focus on addressing complex challenges, such as congestion management and voltage control through AC security-constrained optimal power flow, unit commitment, demand-side management, and renewable integration. His software proficiency spans both commercial and open-source tools, including GAMS, MATLAB, Julia, JuMP, and Python, which he has applied in multiple high-impact research projects across Europe.

 Specifically, he was working on:
 – Congestion management and voltage control in transmission/distribution level
 – Security constrained optimal power flow (LP/NLP/MINLP)
 – Short-term operation of power system
 – Demand response integration in real utilities for small consumers
 – Reliability indices (SAIFI/SAIDI) in Tehran electric distribution company
 – Multistage/Stochastic/Robust/Chance-constrained optimisation techniques
 – Application of different decomposition methodologies in power system studies
 – Conducting higher education research for master and Ph.D. candidates
