Dumitru Dan Smaranda received his PhD degree in Theoretical Particle Physics from the University of Glasgow (UK) in 2020. Following this he transitioned into Machine/Deep Learning and its applications in science and industry. His current interest revolve around modern machine/deep learning algorithms, their explainability and potential applications in diverse areas of science and industry. Dan joined the Services and Data Management research group, SEDAN, headed by Prof. Radu State.
