What will finance look like in 2035? SnT professor and FinTech expert Gilbert Fridgen attempted to answer this question in an interview with Paperjam magazine.

Gilbert Fridgen shared his insights on the future of finance in an interview published in the November 2024 issue of the Luxembourg business magazine Paperjam.

The professor in Digital Financial Services at SnT discusses the importance of digital transformation for both financial businesses and financial products.

He highlights the interdisciplinary work carried out by the FutureFinTech National Centre of Excellence in Research at the University of Luxembourg, which combines the expertise of SnT and the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance (FDEF).

This programme was launched in March 2023 with significant funding from the FNR and support from the ministry of Finance.

What is the impact of Artificial Intelligence in finance? Where are we with the adoption of digital currencies, or the development of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)? Gilbert Fridgen discusses the drivers of change in this key sector for the Luxembourg economy, given that finance generates a quarter of the country’s GDP.

Gilbert Fridgen was also one of the speakers at the 10×6 Luxembourg Finance 2035 organised by the Paperjam Club on Tuesday 19 November.
