Prestigious Award for SnT’s Founder Björn Ottersten

The professor and founding director of SnT Björn Ottersten has been selected to receive the 2025 IEEE Fourier Technical Field Award for his “contributions to array processing and its applications in wireless communications”, mentioned IEEE in a statement.

“I am deeply honoured to receive this recognition from my colleagues and peers in the field”, commented the professor specialized on wireless communications and statistical signal processing.


A ceremony planned for next year

The Fourier Award is a major IEEE Technical Field Award and will be presented to Björn Ottersten at the IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing next April in India.

The winner is judged on the basis of the impact on the field of signal processing technology, including seminal scientific contributions, innovation, and leadership.

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to engineering and technology community. It gathers 460,000 members in more than 190 countries. It is known for its cited publications, conferences, technology standards, and professional and educational activities.
