Cybersecurity is a major focus at SnT, and it also features prominently in the programme of Luxembourg’s Chamber of Commerce’s economic mission to Romania. Starting Monday 30 September, a delegation from Luxembourg will be busy with back-to-back meetings. Among them is Radu State, a professor specializing in Network Management and Cybersecurity at SnT.

“I consider this mission as an ideal opportunity to meet key people from Luxembourg and Romania in a short period of time,” says Professor State.

Being from Romania himself, Radu State is very interested in how the country is growing in terms of infrastructure and economic fabric. “Romania has given rise to big names in cybersecurity like BitDefender and automation software like UiPath,” he notes.

The Chamber of Commerce has planned a visit to the European Cybersecurity Competence Center (ECCC) in Bucharest. “For me, the ECCC visit is the highlight of the mission,” says Professor State.

He also has high hopes for academic collaboration, with a visit to the Innovation Lab Campus at the University Politehnica Bucharest. His goal? To attract students who want to pursue a PhD at SnT.

But above all, Radu State wants to build strong connections between Luxembourg and Romania. The Chamber of Commerce highlights that Romania is on track to become the third fastest-growing economy in Europe this year and is already the largest economy in Southeast Europe.
