Quoc Viet Nguyen is a Doctoral Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability, and Trust (SnT) at the University of Luxembourg. He is part of the DELPHI project (Data-driven Electricity Load Prediction for Households and Small Industries) within the Digital Financial Services and Cross-Organisational Digital Transformations (FINATRAX) research group. The group is led by Prof. Gilbert Fridgen.
Research
Viet’s research focuses on using machine learning techniques for short-term load forecasting at both residential and aggregate levels. He is particularly interested in applying graph neural networks to model spatial dependencies between time series, aiming to improve forecasting accuracy.
Work Experience
During Viet’s master’s studies, he gained industry experience working with companies like Tinubu Square (in credit insurance) and EDF (Electricité de France). His internships focused on applying machine learning to address real-world problems.
Educational Background
Viet earned a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics from École Polytechnique in Paris and a Master’s in Statistics, Finance, and Actuarial Science from ENSAE, a prestigious French grande école specialising in data science, quantitative social sciences, finance, and actuarial science.
