With a focus on cybersecurity, defence, space and AI, the programme of the Chamber of Commerce’s economic mission to Canada fits close with many of SnT’s research priorities.

The interdisciplinary centre has therefore chosen to take part in this operation led by the Chamber of Commerce from 27 to 31 October.

“This economic mission offers a valuable opportunity to connect with potential partners in Canada, while also uncovering new challenges and crafting solutions that can benefit our local ecosystem”, explains Fabrizio Pastore, Associate Professor at SnT.

Possible connections

The space industry and cyber security sectors are particularly dynamic in the maple leaf country. The mission programme includes a visit to the Incyber North America Forum in Montreal, whose key theme is “Cybersecurity in the age of AI”. On the aerospace side, the Luxembourg delegation is expected to visit Bombardier’s HQ on the periphery of Montreal. The programme also includes a visit to MILA, the Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute.

A stopover in Toronto is planned, with company visits and participation in the Luxembourg-Ontario Business Forum. The event will focus on cyber, defence and space.

This programme reflects the majority of SnT’s research priorities. It should enable the centre to take the pulse of a country whose economic fabric is aligned with its interests, but also to explore a market with extra-large dimensions.
