Investigating –Thinking –Writing
Our Humanities programme covers a wide range of disciplines, including English, German, Luxembourgish, Romance Studies, History, Linguistics, Music and Philosophy. As a Doctoral candidate, you work with a supervisory committee that guides and supports you in your research project.
The programme combines disciplinary research colloquia, interdisciplinary seminars and transferable skills courses. In the research colloquia you discuss your own work, you are trained on how to present your research effectively and on how to give and receive feedback from peers and senior academics. In our interdisciplinary seminars, you are encouraged to think creatively and to engage productively with researchers from other disciplines. Finally, our transferable skills courses support you in developing excellent writing, presentation and teaching skills, in enhancing your knowledge of research ethics, and in engaging in outreach activities.
Striking a unique balance between autonomous research and supervisory and peer support, our programme empowers you to make an original contribution to scholarship in the Humanities.
