On 17 October 2024, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Jackline Wahba from Southampton University.

As part of our lecture series on Cross-Border Labor Mobility, Prof. Wahba delivered an insightful lecture on “Return Migration”.

Prof. Wahba delivered an insightful lecture to the Across Programme doctoral students on “Return Migration,” providing a comprehensive overview of the economic literature on the subject. She examined both the theoretical determinants and the empirical evidence behind the drivers of return migration. In addition, Professor Wahba delved into the broader implications of return migration, highlighting its pivotal role in entrepreneurship, human capital development, knowledge diffusion, and the transfer of norms to migrants’ home countries.

This lecture series is organised by Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) & the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management from the University of Luxembourg, in the framework of the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Luxembourg funded project: #ACROSS.
