The Songs of Refugees
On 20 June 2024, we were delighted to welcome Prof. Stelios Michalopoulos from Brown University.
As part of our lecture series on Cross-Border Labor Mobility, Prof. Michalopoulos delivered an insightful lecture titled “The Songs of Refugees.” He shared his study on how refugee songs reflect uprootedness, the political leanings of refugee descendants, and the role of narratives and emotions in political messaging.
This lecture series is organized by Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER) & the Doctoral School in Economics, Finance and Management (DSEFM) from the University of Luxembourg, in the framework of the Fonds National de la Recherche (FNR), Luxembourg funded project ACROSS.
